Getting the most out of your PilePad isn't rocket science—but a few pro tips can make all the difference between "set it and forget it" protection and constantly adjusting your setup.

Whether you're a first-time installer or a seasoned pro, these tips will help you maximize your PilePad's lifespan and keep your boat pristine. You didn’t invest in protection just to wing it, use these tips to get it 100% right.

4 TOP TIPS FOR MAX PROTECTION

1

Position with the Tides

Align the bottom of your pad with your boat's lowest touch point at low tide. Ensure the total height extends to protect the highest touch point at high tide. Follow this and you're protected during tide changes.

Pro Tip : When in doubt, go a little higher.

2

Tuck Away Excess Strap

Each strap includes a "strap clip"—that dual-slot slider. Thread the strap through the clip to keep it from flailing in the wind. We're here to protect your boat and look good doing it. Flailing straps are a no-no.

3

Rinse Pads Regularly

If your pads submerge during high tide—no problem. Just rinse with fresh water to prevent marine growth buildup. Not addressing marine growth will shorten fabric lifespan and reduce its soft touch.

4

Tighten, But Not Too Much

Secure straps just enough that the pad won't twist when nudged by hand. Avoid overtightening—you'll stress the seams and shorten the product's lifespan.

Pro Tip : Think "snug hug," not "death grip."
